The Codington County Veterans Service Office is dedicated to serving the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as their dependents, survivors, and family members. Our office provides free, professional assistance and advocacy to help veterans fully access the benefits and services they have earned through military service.
Our experienced Veterans Service Officer and Deputy Service Officer are here to:
- Educate veterans and their families about federal and state benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Prepare and submit claims and appeals for VA benefits, including service-connected disability compensation, non-service-connected pension, education and training, health care enrollment, and more.
- Assist with survivor and dependent benefits, including burial allowances, headstones/markers, and survivor compensation.
- Provide follow-up and representation, helping veterans navigate VA decisions and ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Refer to other community and state resources that may support veteran health, employment, education, and quality of life.
We serve as the local liaison between veterans, their families, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, offering compassionate guidance and support through every step of the benefit process.
